The body of this cello was made during a heat-wave in the summer of 2025. This accelerated the cure of the resin causing a unique visual pattern. As this pattern is purely aesthetical and has no negative effect on the properties of the instrument, the part passed quality control and evolved into this cello that can roar like no other: therefor we decided to call it The Leopard! The instrument is fitted with a Belgian bridge and Larsen Magnacore strings. This cello has a warm, powerful and direct sound. Just like a leopard, it can accelerate at an incredible speed!
Our cellos are made from flax fiber composite which we produce in our own workshop. The composition of the flax fiber material is varied throughout the instrument for optimal playing properties and sound production. Our instruments are stronger and less fragile then wooden instruments and are treated for an increased stability against extreme temperatures (up to 80C° or 140 F°) and fluctuations in air humidity.
This instrument features a novel build-in pickup system developed at HoGent & Ghent University for easy high quality amplification. The system is passive and has an XLR output near the endpin.
